Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health is seeking a Diagnostic Radiology Technologist at Bridgeport Hospital to perform diagnostic radiographic exams and ensure patient safety.

The role requires AMA-approved Radiologic Technology training, AS degree, ARRT RT(R) certification, CT license, and CPR certification. You will maintain equipment, verify orders, and contribute to patient satisfaction through quality imaging and care.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program; AS degree required.
  • RT(R) certification by ARRT and CT license; CPR certification.
  • Proficient in routine Radiography CR/Digital imaging techniques; knowledge of PACS applications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations using appropriate protocols and age-specific standards.
  • Verify physician orders on requisitions 100% of the time.
  • Operate radiographic equipment to ensure proper technical results.
  • Prepare examination rooms to ensure clean, safe environments.
  • Replace used supplies promptly after patient dismissal.
  • Provide quality and compassionate patient care with appropriate age-specific standards.
  • Engage in recordkeeping and customer service to support department goals.
  • Chaperone patients when necessary and participate in teaching opportunities to grow knowledge.
