Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform a variety of radiologic procedures at a technical level. The role includes on-call rotation, exposure to acutely ill patients, and collaboration with radiologists and other healthcare workers to ensure diagnostic quality imaging.

Candidates must have completed an AMA-approved radiologic technology program, hold Connecticut licensure in radiologic technology, and be ARRT registered or registry-eligible.

Qualifications

  • Must be ARRT Registered (R) or Registry Eligible.
  • Must hold a CT radiology program completion and state licensure.
  • BLS/CPR required.

Responsibilities

  • Must be Mentally Flexible When Dealing With Coworkers, Students, Radiologists And Other Healthcare Workers.
  • Obtains And Assesses A Patient’s Pertinent Clinical Information.
  • Consistently Produces Diagnostic Quality Radiographs By Using Proper Technical Factors And Patient Positioning.
  • Facilitates Efficient Patient Flow.
  • Completes, In And Accurate And Timely Manner, All Patient Documentation. (I.E. Exam Charging, Patient Insurance, And Maintenance Of Day Log).
  • Shows Empathy And Compassion To Patients At All Times.
  • Operates All Equipment Properly And Efficiently, And Under Safe Radiation Guidelines.
  • Performs Venopuncture For Contrast Injections, And Can Assess Vital Signs As Needed.
  • Maintains Good Communication Amongst Team Members And Other Departments To Maximize Excellent Patient Care.
  • Meets Performance Expectations For Customer Service, Teamwork, Resource Utilization, And Staff And Self Development As Outlined In Performance Review.
  • Performs Other Duties As Assigned Or Directed To Ensure Smooth Operation Of The Department/Unit.
