Luminis Health, Inc. is seeking a Customer Service/Registration Specialist to accurately collect patient demographics, insurance, and medical information for registrations and admissions. The role emphasizes professional communication, adherence to policies, and collaboration with staff.

Requires high school diploma or GED; 2 years healthcare registration/insurance experience preferred. On-site position with comprehensive benefits and a pay range of $17.50–$26/hour USD.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years of previous registration or insurance experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
• Excellent communications skills must be demonstrated.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is desirable.
• Working knowledge of basic computer skills and web-based applications.
• If serving as a bilingual/multilingual interpreter, certification in Medical Interpretation is required to perform the duties of a qualified interpreter.

Responsibilities

• Accurately obtains and processes patient demographic, insurance and medical information for registrations, admissions and financial purposes.
• Adheres to department and organization policies including arrivals, attire, and readiness for work.
• Answers the phone courteously and professionally and routes inquiries as appropriate.
• Independently prioritizes CSR workflow to meet deadlines and maximize productivity.
• Communicates financial responsibilities to patients and collects funds accordingly.
• Assists with training and orientation of new staff.
• Maintains knowledge of departmental issues and hospital-wide changes.
• Monitors and corrects department work queues daily.
• Participates in team performance reviews.
• Understands downtime and disaster procedures and performs duties during such conditions.
