University of Miami is seeking a Patient Scheduler 2 for UMHC - SCCC - Radiology. The role will handle patient calls, verify demographics and insurance, and coordinate scheduling of diverse imaging procedures across the UHealth system.

Responsibilities include communicating with patients and providers, scheduling complex exams, and ensuring accurate information and exam readiness. High-volume scheduling experience and knowledge of medical terminology are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required.

Responsibilities

• Delivers exceptional customer service by communicating with patients over the phone to provide information and coordinate scheduling of diagnostic procedures.
• Interacts with referring physicians, radiologists, technologists, and patients to ensure smooth coordination of exams.
• Schedules all types of complex exams with attention to detail.
• Obtains and verifies demographic and insurance information.
• Screens and verifies information to ensure accuracy when scheduling exams.
• Manages high call volumes and educates patients on exam preparation.
• Uses scheduling software and multiple systems to coordinate exams across modalities and entities.
• Reviews prior imaging reports to ensure scheduling aligns with orders.
• Coordinates processes and timing as required by the physician and facility for special procedures.
• Notifies parties if labs or premedication are needed.
• Adheres to policies and safeguards university assets.
