Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a radiology support aide to assist patients before exams, prepare rooms, and coordinate with radiologists, technologists, and physicians. You will greet patients, escort families, and help with scheduling and filing of images and reports.

Ideal candidates will have strong communication, basic computer skills, and the ability to lift and move equipment. The role requires compliance with safety standards and patient-centered care across age groups.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Radiologic Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program accredited by ARRT/ARDMS.
• GED or High School Diploma (GED/HSED/HS)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist patient in preparation for exam and provide basic instruction about routine procedures.
• Transport patients between exam rooms and escort patients, families, and visitors as department needs require.
• Use radiology computer systems to generate requisitions, check schedules, and obtain pertinent patient information.
• Organize and prepare exam rooms and work areas, including cleaning, stocking, and maintaining equipment.
• Greet patients and visitors, respond to routine requests, schedule appointments, and take messages.
• Act as liaison between ordering physician, radiologist, and technologist.
• Provide radiology reports/images to staff, physicians, patients, and family; file and retrieve records.
• Document observations and communicate patient needs to physicians and health care team.
• Perform routine maintenance and quality monitoring of imaging equipment as needed.
• Assist with MRI implant screening/documentation.
