Job summary

Qualifications

• BLS certification required upon hire unless department leader determines it is not required.
• GED or HS equivalency or High School Diploma.
• No prior experience required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and handle equipment with care.

Responsibilities

• Assists patient in preparation for exam, provides basic instruction on routine procedures, transports patients between rooms and escorts them as needed.
• Uses radiology computer systems to generate requisitions, check schedules, and obtain patient information.
• Organizes and prepares exam rooms and work areas, including cleaning, stocking, and maintaining equipment.
• Greets patients and visitors, answers routine information requests, schedules appointments, and takes messages.
• Acts as liaison between ordering physician, radiologist, and technologist.
• Provides radiology reports/images to staff, physicians, patients, and family; files, retrieves, and releases health information.
• Documents observations and communicates patient needs to physicians and health care team.
• Performs routine maintenance and quality monitoring of imaging equipment; sterilizes instruments as required.
• Assists with MRI implant screening and documentation as needed.
• Demonstrates age-appropriate care understanding and can assess patient status across life span in line with department policies.
