Job summary

Advocate Health Care in Illinois, operating Advocate Christ Medical Center, seeks a radiology technologist student to assist with imaging in the Electrophysiology department and support the imaging team.

You will prepare patients and rooms, maintain equipment, and help ensure safe, accurate imaging under licensed supervision. Enrollment in radiologic technology and ongoing clinical training are required.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited radiology program and progressing toward ARRT credentialing.
• Completion of clinical training in Radiology; 12 months minimum.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers and ARRT registration to be obtained within 120 days of graduation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and exam rooms per infection control and procedure prep.
• Assist imaging procedures and position patients for radiologic exams.
• Verify patient IDs and explain procedures; obtain clinical history.
• Assist patients in preparation and transfers to/from exam rooms.
• Transport patients to other facility areas as required.
• Use radiology systems to generate requisitions, check schedules and retrieve patient data.
• Review medical records to obtain clinical information and verify orders.
• Position patients and select exposure factors under supervision for safe imaging.
• Ensure imaging and records are documented in SmartChart, RIS and PACS.
