Responsibilities

• Supports imaging staff with preparation of patient and exam room before, during, and after imaging procedures.
• Verifies patient identification using two identifiers and explains procedures to patients.
• Assists patient in preparation for exam and transfers to/from exam rooms; may transport within the facility.
• Uses radiology systems to generate requisitions, check schedules, and obtain patient information.
• Reviews medical records for clinical information and matches requisitions to physician orders.
• Positions patients and selects exposure factors under supervision; cannot activate exposure switch.
• Ensures images and records are documented in RIS and PACS; cannot independently review images.
