Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Radiology program and in clinical training.
• Basic Life Support certification required (AHA).
• ARRT registration to be obtained within 120 days of graduation from accredited Radiology program.
• Completion of 12 months training in an accredited Radiology program and readiness for clinical competencies.

Responsibilities

• Assist imaging staff with patient prep and room setup according to infection control practices.
• Verify patient identity with two identifiers and explain procedures to patients.
• Assist transfers and transport patients to various areas as needed.
• Use radiology systems to generate requisitions, check schedules, and retrieve patient data.
• Review medical records and orders to ensure exam accuracy and appropriate history.
• Position patients and select exposure factors under supervision; cannot activate exposure switches.
• Document images and records in SmartChart, RIS, and PACS in a timely manner.
• Provide age-appropriate care and communicate patient needs per department policies.
