Job summary

Shriners Children’s Portland is seeking a Department Assistant III to support the Radiology Department with clerical and administrative tasks. The role acts as a resource to staff, patients, families and the public, and assists the department director with operations and tasks.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, 1 year in a health-care office, excellent customer service, and proficient Microsoft Office skills. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• One year of experience in a health-care office setting preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills are essential.
• Experience with a multi-line telephone system.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides clerical support for the Diagnostic Imaging manager and staff.
• Performs general clerical tasks to ensure smooth department operations.
• Answers calls, directs inquiries, and conveys messages to appropriate staff.
• Maintains sign-in/sign-out records for films and departmental files.
• Keeps departmental files and record-keeping systems up to date.
• Tracks imaging procedures completed at outside facilities.
