Job summary

Heraeus Medevio in Fridley, MN is seeking an on-site R&D Quality Engineer Co-Op for an 8-month program (May 2027–December 2027). You will work with design, product, and process engineers to ensure quality throughout development and help bridge product development with quality assurance.

As a student, you will gain hands-on experience in risk assessments, test method development, and data analysis, contributing to medical device projects while receiving mentorship and real-world engineering

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
• Ability to work full-time onsite during the co-op.
• Strong analytical and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret standards.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication.
• Team player who can work independently.
• Eager to apply academic engineering concepts to real-world projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide general support to cross-functional engineering teams through product lifecycle, using inspection, correlation, DOE, PFMEA, GR&R, and data analysis.
• Support development of inspection methods, process controls, and standards with internal/external stakeholders.
• Support nonconforming material and product investigations, dispositions, and corrective actions.
• Use statistical tools to monitor product performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Assist with system implementations and SPC/SQS software.
• Participate in operations and quality team meetings.
• Respond to changing priorities in a timely manner.
• Other duties as required.
