Job summary

Maine Drilling & Blasting Inc in Brunswick, ME, is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator/Driller Trainee (Quarry). You will learn to operate heavy construction equipment such as backhoes, skid steers, excavators, and loaders while gaining drilling and blasting exposure on our quarry sites.

This is a full-time, on-site role with an hourly rate of $20–$22, potential travel stipend, and a strong promotion-from-within culture.

Qualifications

• Equipment operating experience with earth-moving construction equipment preferred.
• Valid driver's license with own transportation.
• Experience as construction laborer is advantageous.
• Mechanical aptitude around equipment, motors, hydraulics and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy construction equipment as instructed by Supervisors and Operators.
• Maintain safety and adapt to varying weather conditions.
• Travel out of town and work overtime as required.
• Perform daily maintenance for safe, efficient equipment operation.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
• Learn drill patterns and execute layouts as directed by the Foreman.
• Inventory accessories and manage maintenance supplies.
• Report problems and terrain conditions to Foreman/Blaster.
• Complete drill reports, hole sheets and timecards timely.
• Work unsupervised with a sense of urgency.
• Participate in meetings and training sessions.
• Complete Driller I training within designated period.
• Carry tools and supplies as needed.
