Job summary

The Maine Drilling & Blasting Inc is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator/Driller Trainee (Construction) to join our team in Maine. You will operate heavy equipment and learn drilling and blasting processes while advancing through our internal development program.

Responsibilities include operating backhoes, skid steers, excavators, maintaining equipment, following safety policies, and collaborating with foremen.

Qualifications

• Experience operating earth-moving or construction equipment is helpful.
• Valid driver's license with own transportation is required.
• Experience as construction laborer is preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude around equipment, motors, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• Must pass ATF background screening.

Responsibilities

• Operate job-specific equipment and follow supervisor instructions.
• Maintain safety and work well in varying weather.
• Occasional out-of-town travel and overtime may be required.
• Perform daily maintenance for safe, efficient operation.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
• Learn drill patterns and layouts as established by Foreman.
• Inventory and understand cost of accessories; communicate issues.
• Complete drill reports, hole sheets, and signed timecards timely.
