Maine Drilling & Blasting Inc is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator/Driller Trainee for our Quarry operations in Auburn, NH. You will start by operating backhoes, skid steers, excavators, or loaders while learning drilling and blasting techniques from experienced foremen.

Qualifications

• Equipment operating experience is helpful with earth moving construction equipment, farm equipment, or timber harvesting gear.
• Valid Driver's License with own transportation is required.
• Experience as construction laborer is preferred.
• Must have common sense relative to equipment operation.
• Mechanical aptitude around equipment, motors, hydraulics and electrical systems is desirable.
• Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• Must complete ATF background screening.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain heavy construction equipment as directed by Supervisors or Drill Operators.
• Work safely in varying weather and site conditions.
• Occasional out-of-town travel and overtime may be required.
• Perform daily maintenance for safe, efficient equipment operation.
• Follow safety policies and procedures at all times.
• Learn drill patterns and layouts as established by the Blaster Foreman.
• Maintain inventory and understand accessory costs and maintenance needs.
• Complete drill reports and timecards accurately in the Field Accounting system.
