Job summary

Maine Drilling & Blasting Inc. (MD&B) is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator/Driller Trainee (Quarry). This entry‑level role offers hands‑on training, a clear path to the drilling and blasting trades, and the stability of a majority employee‑owned ESOP company.

As a Trainee you will operate heavy construction equipment, support supervision, and learn drill patterns with opportunities for advancement. Hourly pay ranges from $20 to $22, plus travel stipend, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience operating earth moving/construction equipment is helpful.
• Valid Driver's License with own transportation.
• Experience as a construction laborer preferred.
• Must hold a high level of common sense relative to equipment and machinery operation.
• Mechanical aptitude around equipment, motors, hydraulics, electrical systems desired.
• Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screen; background screening for ATF.

Responsibilities

• Operate and learn job-specific instructions from Superintendents, Blasting Supervisor or Drill Operators.
• Maintain safety-minded approach and adapt to varying weather environments.
• Overtime and out-of-town travel may be required.
• Perform daily maintenance for safe, efficient operation of assigned equipment.
• Adhere to Company Safety Policies and Procedures.
• Learn drill patterns and execute as established by Foreman.
