Job summary

Maine Drilling & Blasting Inc in Gardiner, ME is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator/Driller Trainee for quarry work. The role involves operating backhoes, skid steers, excavators, and loaders while learning drilling and blasting techniques.

The position offers an hourly rate of $20-$22, with travel stipend, and advancement within an employee-owned ESOP company. You will work safely in varying weather, perform daily maintenance, coordinate with the Blaster Foreman, and complete required paperwork

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy construction equipment such as backhoe, skid steer, excavators, or loaders.
• Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• Must successfully complete a background screening for ATF.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment as directed by Superintendents, Blasting Supervisor or Drill Operators.
• Maintain safety and perform daily equipment upkeep.
• Travel out of town and work overtime as required.
• Learn drill patterns and terminology and execute patterns as directed by the Blaster Foreman.
• Complete drill reports, hole sheets, and timecards.
