Job summary

Saab West Lafayette in Indiana seeks a Technical Writer to join our team manufacturing the rear section of the T-7A Redhawk aircraft. You will serve as the local SME for technical writing, guiding inspectors across shifts and reporting performance metrics.

You will develop and apply best practices, generate NCRs and inspection documentation, and ensure compliance with customer/industry standards while collaborating with a global team to deliver high-quality products on schedule.

Qualifications

• AS degree in Quality, Technical Writing, or related STEM field or 3 years in manufacturing quality.
• Previous technical writing experience in manufacturing or quality operations required.
• Ability to interpret and revise documents for consistency and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Serve as local SME for technical writing and train inspectors across shifts.
• Report on writing performance and turnaround time to leadership.
• Identify recurring quality issues and establish corrective actions.
• Develop best practices for technical writing and maintain them.
• Prepare NCRs, Inspection Plans/Control Plans, FAIs, and MRB dispositions.
• Understand quality requirements per customer/industry standards.
• Support high-quality product delivery within schedule.
• Act as primary contact in non-conformance investigations and material assessments.
• Contribute to Saab's people-first culture and core values.
• Other projects and tasks as assigned.
