Job summary

Saab West Lafayette is seeking a Technical Writer to join our team manufacturing rear sections for the T-7A Redhawk program. You will serve as the local SME for technical writing, guiding inspectors and shaping standard work across shifts, with emphasis on NCRs, FAIs, MRBs, and corrective actions.

You will develop and enforce best practices for documentation, interpret complex product requirements, and collaborate on quality improvements for on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• AsDegree in Quality, Technical Writing or related STEM discipline OR 3 years in a manufacturing quality role required.
• Previous technical writing experience in manufacturing or quality operation is required.
• Ability to articulate technical product/process requirements for electro-mechanical assembly.
• Interpret and revise documentation for consistency and efficient repetition.
• Effective and concise written and verbal communication skills.
• Collaborative approach to problem-solving.
• Self-driven with ability to deliver high-quality results across a global team.
• Ability to work extended hours when needed.

Responsibilities

• Serve as local SME for technical writing; provide guidance/training for inspectors across shifts.
• Report on writing performance and turnaround time to leadership.
• Identify quality issues and establish corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Develop best practices for technical writing; maintain updates.
• Handle NCRs, Inspection Plans/Control Plans, FAIs, and MRB dispositions.
• Develop knowledge of customer/industry quality requirements.
• Facilitate controls/solutions to deliver high-quality products on schedule.
• Act as primary contact in non-conformance investigations and material assessments.
