Job summary

Saab West Lafayette in Indiana seeks a Technical Writer to join a team manufacturing the rear section of the T-7A Redhawk aircraft for the USAF. You will serve as the SME for technical writing, guide inspectors, and drive quality documentation across shifts.

Responsibilities include NCRs, FAIs, MRBs, and ensuring compliance with customer and industry standards. Strong communication and collaborative problem solving are essential; some extended hours may be required.

Qualifications

• AS Degree or 3 years in manufacturing quality required.
• Technical writing experience in manufacturing/quality operations.
• Ability to translate complex requirements into clear instructions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as local SME for technical writing and train inspectors.
• Report on writing performance and turnaround time to leadership.
• Identify common quality issues and establish corrective actions.
• Develop and update best practices for technical writing.
• Handle NCRs, Inspection Plans/Control Plans, FAIs, MRBs.
• Learn quality requirements per customer/industry standards.
• Ensure controls/solutions yield high-quality products on schedule.
• Lead non-conformance investigations and material assessments.
• Support Saab values and cross-functional collaboration.
• Contribute to other projects and tasks as assigned.
