Job summary

Saab in West Lafayette, IN, is seeking a Technical Writer to join a team manufacturing rear sections for the T-7A Redhawk. You will serve as SME for technical writing, produce NCRs, and maintain inspection and control plans for high-quality aerospace components.

Ideal candidates have AS in Quality/Technical Writing or related STEM and at least 3 years' manufacturing quality experience; BS in a STEM field preferred. This role requires strong communication and collaboration across shifts and teams.

Qualifications

• As-degree or 3 years’ related experience in manufacturing quality required.
• Previous technical writing experience in manufacturing or quality operation required.
• Ability to articulate technical product/process requirements for electro-mechanical assembly.
• Interpret and revise written documentation for consistency and efficiency.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Collaborative approach to problem-solving.
• Self-driven with ability to deliver quality results across a global team.
• Ability to work extended hours when needed.

Responsibilities

• Serve as local SME for technical writing and train inspectors across shifts.
• Report on writing performance and turnaround time to leadership.
• Identify recurring quality issues and establish corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain best practices for technical writing.
• Handle NCRs, Inspection Plans/Control Plans, FAIs, and MRB dispositions.
• Build knowledge of quality requirements per customer/industry standards.
• Facilitate controls to deliver high-quality products on schedule.
• Be primary contact in non-conformance investigations and material assessments.
• Contribute to a people-first Saab culture aligned with core values.
• Perform other projects and tasks as assigned.
