Job summary

Salt & Straw is seeking a Quality Systems Manager to strengthen quality assurance and food safety across our Central Kitchen, shops, suppliers, and co-manufacturing partners. Based onsite in Portland, OR, you’ll lead supplier quality, investigations, CAPA, and continuous improvement within SQF and GFSI-aligned systems.

You will translate quality strategy into practical programs, drive audit readiness, and coach the Regulatory Compliance Coordinator while partnering with R&D, Commercialization,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Dairy Science, Biology, Chemistry, Public Health, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years progressive quality assurance and food safety experience in food & beverage, including 2+ years leading people.
• Experience with GFSI systems (SQF preferred), CAPA, and root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Turn quality and food safety strategy into practical programs across manufacturing, shops, suppliers and co-manufacturers.
• Lead supplier quality, investigations, and CAPA for food safety events and labeling issues.
• Own packaging and label approvals, ensuring consistency from draft to approval.
• Coach and develop Regulatory Compliance Coordinator and support Director as needed.
• Drive audit readiness and continuous improvement of SQF and GFSI-aligned systems.
