Job summary

Mercury Systems in Columbia, MD is seeking a Quality Inspector to ensure electro-mechanical assemblies meet stringent aerospace requirements. The role supports incoming, in-process, and final inspections, with emphasis on spot checks, 1st-piece verification, and 100% inspection as needed.

You will verify documentation, identify deviations, conduct root-cause analyses, and collaborate with Quality and Engineering.

Qualifications

• High-School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in quality assurance for electro-mechanical assemblies and related inspections.
• Experience with incoming, in-process and final inspections including customer source inspections.
• Ability to spend long hours using a microscope.
• Experience with IPC Industry Standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality at production line level with spot-inspection, sampling, 1st-piece verification and 100% inspection as required.
• Verify in-process material against customer and industry standards.
• Ensure accurate documentation recording and collection.
• Identify defects and non-conformities; collaborate with Quality and Engineering.
• Investigate root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Support first-piece verification runs with accompanying documents.
• Document non-conformities to process and specifications.
• Initiate regular quality line-audits for documentation, consumables, and tooling checks.
• Advocate proper ESD, PPE and FOD prevention and ISO verifications.
• Operate appropriate inspection equipment.

Job description

In this role, you have the opportunity to ensure the quality of our products meets the high demand requirements of the aerospace industry.This position supports incoming inspection, in-process, and final inspection.

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensuringquality at a production line level by incorporating spot-inspection, sampling, 1st-piece verification and 100% inspection as required.
• Verifying complianceof in-process material against Customer and Industry Standards
• Ensuring documentation is accurately recorded and collected.
• Identifies defects, deviations from specifications, and non-compliance issues, and collaborates theissues with Quality and Engineering team.
• Investigate root causes of non-conformities and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Supporting first-piece verification runs with accompanying documents.
• Documentingnon-conformities to the process and specifications
• Initiating regular quality line-audits to ensure all documentation, consumables, and tooling are within check.
• Advocating proper ESD, PPE, and FOD prevention, calibration, and ISO compliance verifications.
• Operating appropriate inspection equipment

Required Qualifications:

• High-School Diploma or equivalent
• Typically requires 3+ years of experience in quality assurance of electro -mechanical (circuit card assembly) , bare PCB, mechanical Enclosures inspection in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience supporting incoming, in-process and final inspections including customer source inspections.
• Physically able to spend up to 8 hours a day using a microscope.
• Experience with IPCIndustry Standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

• J-STD-001 Class 3 and/or IPC 610 certified.
• Experience with MMIC technology (amplifiers, attenuators, filters, switches, etc).
• Experience working in an ISO-9001 and/or AS9100 Quality System environment.
• Ability to communicate openly and effectively to provide real-time feedback.
• Ability to work in a fast-pacedteam environment.
• Documentation abilities.
• Industry-Relevant Quality Inspection or Control experience.
• Willingness to cross train in multiple Quality areas.

$38,300.00 - $76,600.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in FL, GA, IN, AZ, AL, MD or TX, and all remote employees
$42,900.00 - $85,800.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in VA, CA, NH or MA
$45,200.00 - $90,400.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in NJ
