Job summary

Mercury Systems is seeking a Senior Mechanical Assembler to perform production tasks on electronics and mechanical assemblies for aerospace and defense applications. You will install, inspect and interpret wiring diagrams, ensuring IPC standards are met while demonstrating leadership and a proactive approach.

The role requires 3+ years of mechanical assembly experience, meticulous hand-eye coordination, and flexibility to support production schedules.

Qualifications

  • Must have meticulous hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Knowledge of ESD (Electrostatic discharge) procedures
  • Must be detail oriented and able to multitask
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to meet production and customer needs
  • High School Diploma or GED

Job description

The Senior Mechanical Assembler will perform a variety of tasks relating to production operations on electronics and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Install, assemble and inspect electronic components per documented work instructions.
  • Interpret job routers, written instructions, wiring diagrams and schematic drawings for assembly of electronics.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, leadership and initiatives on a daily basis.
  • Perform a variety of inspections to ensure assemblies meet/exceed IPC standards.
  • Perform pass downs with outgoing/incoming shifts.
  • Disassemble and re-assemble, modify, rework assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Typically requires 3+ years of mechanical assembly experience
  • Must have meticulous hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Knowledge of ESD (Electrostatic discharge) procedures
  • Must be detail oriented and able to multitask
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Electronics assembly and inspection experience
  • Knowledgeable of 5S/6S
  • New Process Introduction experience highly preferred
  • Experience with set up and training a team from scratch
  • IPC-610/620 and JSTD 001 experience

  • Requires good manual dexterity and coordination, and stamina. Specific abilities required by this job include the frequent requirement of overtime work.

Fulltime Equivalent Job Grade Salary Range for this position

  • $44,000.00 - $88,000.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in FL, GA, IN, AZ, AL, MD or TX, and all remote employees
  • $49,300.00 - $98,600.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in VA, CA, NH or MA
  • $51,900.00 - $103,800.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in NJ
