Job summary

Mercury Systems, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Technician to perform design verification testing and troubleshoot sophisticated digital assemblies. You will work hands-on with advanced test equipment to ensure quality and reliability for mission-critical aerospace and defense applications.

The role involves assembling components, interpreting drawings, documenting test data, and collaborating with design, program management, and quality teams. Occasional travel to Hudson, NH may be required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in electronics assembly, testing, troubleshooting & rework.
  • Requires occasional hands-on soldering experience, including building cable assemblies and replacing SMT components.
  • Demonstrated expertise in component-level troubleshooting and failure analysis.
  • Proficiency with test equipment, including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, signal generators, and specialized diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work from schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and test procedures.
  • Ability to travel to Hudson, NH site as needed.
  • Ability to work under a microscope as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Test & troubleshoot assemblies and systems to subassembly, module, and component level.
  • Analyze failures using DMMs, oscilloscopes and other test equipment.
  • Coordinate and perform environmental testing per protocols.
  • Assemble and install components per wiring diagrams and BOMs.
  • Inspect and verify quality of assembled components.
  • Maintain logs and test data with accuracy per quality standards.
  • Communicate findings and updates with engineering and quality teams.
  • Support junior technicians with training and knowledge sharing.

As an Engineering Technician, you will play a critical role in advancing cutting‑edge technology by performing Design Verification Testing (DVT) and troubleshooting sophisticated digital system assemblies to the component level. Job Responsibilities:

Testing & Troubleshooting:

  • Manage systematic troubleshooting of assemblies and systems to the subassembly, module, and component level.
  • Analyze and isolate component‑level failures using digital multimeters (DMM), oscilloscopes, and other specialized test equipment.
  • Coordinate and execute Environmental testing in accordance with established protocols.
  • Work extensively with digital circuits and complex electronic systems to ensure functionality and reliability.

Assembly & Integration:

  • Assemble and install electronic components for product assembly per detailed instructions and wiring diagrams.
  • Inspect and validate the quality of assembled components using proper tooling and techniques.
  • Interpret and execute work from Bills of Material, engineering drawings, and schematics to ensure precise assembly.

Documentation & Quality Assurance:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive logs, records, and organized test data with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ensure documentation packages are complete and compliant with AS9100 quality standards.
  • Communicate daily status updates, technical findings, and procedure updates effectively with engineering and quality teams.
  • Document redlines and manage material flow in accordance with quality process requirements.
  • Interface with cross‑functional teams including Design Engineering, Program Management, and Quality Assurance to resolve technical challenges.
  • Support training and development of junior technicians to enhance team capability and knowledge sharing.
  • Clearly communicate technical findings, issues, and recommendations to stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Electronics or related field is preferred.
  • IPC‑A‑610 Class 3 certification or equivalent electronics assembly certification preferred.
  • Experience with Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) testing.
  • Experience with automated test systems and LabVIEW or similar platforms.
  • Background in aerospace, defense, or medical device manufacturing.

Fulltime Equivalent Job Grade Salary Range for this positionÂ
⢠$44,000.00 - $88,000.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in FL, GA, IN, AZ, AL, MD or TX, and all remote employees
⢠$49,300.00 - $98,600.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in VA, CA, NH or MA
⢠$51,900.00 - $103,800.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in NJ
