In this role, Mercury Systems seeks a Senior Test Technician to test and troubleshoot state-of-the-art, complex digital system assemblies in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

You are an extension of the Test Engineering team responsible for ensuring the proper operation and functionality of advanced technological products that have a real-world impact in one of the fastest-growing companies in the US. This position is for a seasoned individual contributor in the Test sub-family, working under limited supervision in routine and defined situations.

This is a First shift position. 2nd shift hours are 1:00 pm - 10:30 pm M-TH and 1:00 pm -9:30 pm every other Friday on a 9/80 schedule.

Job Responsibility
  • The candidate must be able to apply electronics principles in the test and troubleshooting of high-density multi-system (multiple CPU/FPGA) assemblies, at the board and system level.
  • The Test Technician will perform functional test procedures that verify PCB and system fit, form, and functionality. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
  • Applying methods and techniques for effectively monitoring various diagnostics tests and measuring performance on complex systems.
  • Selection, set up, and deployment of complex and specialized equipment/facilities over a broad spectrum of technologies.
  • Verification and validation of product configuration, test processes and test equipment/setup configuration and operation.
  • Measuring, collecting, and recording of performance data that verifies the reliability and validity of the desired function; prepare accurate and complete test reports of all recorded data.
  • Programming and verification of devices.
  • Troubleshooting of systems, devices, processes and/or test set-ups to locate and repair defective areas.
  • Assisting engineers in submission of processes and operations that assure proper function of product and test equipment per design specifications by working from general block diagrams, rough outlines of basic circuits, oral instructions, schematics, etc.; making necessary calculations to obtain or compare data as required.
  • Performing initial procedural tests on new and/or changed equipment; submitting recommendations for modifications as required to achieve desired results.
  • Submission of defects reporting, non-conforming materials reports, and communication with the production team in the resolution of defects/product failures.
  • Any other task assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualification
  • High school Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience performing complex testing and moderate problem-solving on digital systems and subassemblies.Has a solid understanding ofmanufacturing qualitystandards and can read schematics or other technical data as needed. Ability to prepare complex test reports and data in accordance withfunctional and acceptance leveltest procedures,may be requested to assist with red-lining of existingfunctional testing procedures. Performs complex testing;Thermal, Shock, Vibration and Environmental Tests. Troubleshoots and is able to determine the root cause of issues with assemblies, debugging of moderate to complex problems. Uses a variety of test equipment, including oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters, serial emulators, networking devices, and other tools found in a testing laboratory to ensure the highest quality of integrated and tested products.
  • Engineering & Design: Knowledge of practical applications of engineering and technology, able to apply principles, techniques, and procedures to manufacturing processes, knowledge of design techniques and principals involved in manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing efficiency within manufacturing. Ability to read and perform test procedures and communicate effectively in the event of potential issues.
  • Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Ability to determine root cause(s) of operating errors and methodologies used to resolve them; ability to apply logic and reason to identify complex problems and develop solutions, ability to predict how changes in operations and process flow will affect manufacturing efficiencies and quality of finished product.
  • Experience with electronics troubleshooting/debugging- Ability to read and interpret complex schematics and functional/diagnostic specifications for determining the root cause of failures in the test environment.
  • Experience with basic Microsoft Office suite skills
Preferred Qualification
  • Experience 3 - 5 years
  • Factory Logix, Oracle, Xilinx Suites, Dediprog, ProComm, SecureCRT, TeraTerm.
  • Excellent Teamwork and Communications Skills: Ability to work with others in a team environment to meet deadlines and complete tasks in a timely manner. Ideal candidates will have the ability to communicate with other team members and associated parties in a thorough and timely manner.
  • Successful candidate should have a broad understanding of computer systems, including a basic understanding of TCP/IP, serial communications, RDP use, Linux, and basic command structure, and a rudimentary ability to interpret and modify plain-text scripts as needed.
  • Training:Able to maintain training on applicable equipment and procedures as assigned per job title.

Fulltime Equivalent Job Grade Salary Range for this position

  • $44,000.00 - $88,000.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in FL, GA, IN, AZ, AL, MD or TX, and all remote employees
  • $49,300.00 - $98,600.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in VA, CA, NH or MA
  • $51,900.00 - $103,800.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in NJ,
