Job summary

ABB is seeking a Quality Engineer to lead customer communications and resolve quality issues on Critical Power projects. You will act as the design authority, review deliverables, and collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and product management to ensure successful project delivery.

The role requires a technical background in electrical distribution, 7+ years experience, and strong English communication. Remote work with 40% travel, reporting to Engineering Manager, at ABB US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 7+ years in electrical distribution or power systems.
• Master’s degree with 5+ years in electrical distribution or power systems.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Serve as ABB's primary customer contact for quality and technical issues, leading communications, onsite support, action plans, and resolution timelines.
• Act as the technical and design authority for engineering deliverables on moderate- to high-complexity projects.
• Review and approve designs, perform verification and peer reviews, and ensure compliance with safety, quality, contractual, and as-built documentation requirements.
• Identify and resolve technical challenges while communicating product gaps, customer needs, and market trends to commercial and product management teams.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, testing, commissioning, service, supply chain, sales, and product management to ensure successful project execution.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects, including work plans, cost estimates, RFQs, supplier evaluations, project meetings, contract variations, and timely delivery of engineering outputs.
