Job summary

ABB is seeking a Quality Engineer to serve as the design authority and customer-facing lead on Critical Power projects. You will collaborate with ABB service, engineering, factory, and product management to resolve customer quality issues and ensure successful project delivery.

The role requires strong communication across teams, review of designs, and timely resolution of technical challenges. Candidates should have a degree in Electrical Engineering with significant power systems experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering with 5+ or 7+ years in electrical distribution or power systems.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; fluent in English.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Capability to establish and nurture partnership relationships with ABB Product management, engineering, and service.

Responsibilities

• Serve as ABB's primary customer contact for quality and technical issues, leading communications, onsite support, action plans, and resolution timelines.
• Act as the technical and design authority for engineering deliverables on moderate- to high-complexity projects.
• Review and approve designs, perform verification and peer reviews, and ensure compliance with safety, quality, contractual, and as-built documentation requirements.
• Identify and resolve technical challenges while communicating product gaps, customer needs, and market trends to commercial and product management teams.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, testing, commissioning, service, supply chain, sales, and product management to ensure successful project execution.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects, including work plans, cost estimates, RFQs, supplier evaluations, project meetings, contract variations, and timely delivery of engineering outputs.
