Job summary

ABB Inc. is seeking a Quality Engineer to lead technical design authority and customer-facing quality issues for Critical Power projects.

You will coordinate with engineering, factory, service, and product management to resolve issues and ensure compliant documentation, while traveling up to 40% to support customers. You will review designs, act as the technical lead on complex deliveries, and collaborate across functions to ensure successful project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 7+ years' experience in electrical distribution or power systems.
• Master's degree with 5+ years' experience in electrical distribution or power systems.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Serve as ABB's primary customer contact for quality and technical issues, leading communications, onsite support, action plans, and resolution timelines.
• Act as the technical and design authority for engineering deliverables on moderate- to high-complexity projects.
• Review and approve designs, perform verification and peer reviews, and ensure compliance with safety, quality, contractual, and as-built documentation requirements.
• Identify and resolve technical challenges while communicating product gaps, customer needs, and market trends to commercial and product management teams.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, testing, commissioning, service, supply chain, sales, and product management to ensure successful project execution.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects, including work plans, cost estimates, RFQs, supplier evaluations, project meetings, contract variations, and timely delivery of engineering outputs.
