Job summary

Employee Workplace in Clinton, TN is seeking a Quality Engineer III to support automotive manufacturing. This hands‑on role focuses on improving processes, reducing defects and scrap, resolving production quality issues, and supporting customer requirements.

You will collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, suppliers, customers, and quality teams on root‑cause investigations, APQP/PPAP, PFMEA, control plans, and new product launches to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on quality engineering in manufacturing.
• Experience with APQP, PPAP/ISIR, PFMEA, Control Plans, RCA.
• Experience supporting production-floor quality issues.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or related field preferred.
• Automotive OEM/Tier 1/Tier 2 experience strongly preferred.
• IATF 16949 and AIAG Core Tools preferred.
• Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, supplier/customer quality, automotive launches a plus.
• Stable work history preferred.

• Support new product launches and manufacturing/process changes.
• Monitor quality metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Participate in audits and ensure compliance with automotive quality standards.
• Provide hands‑on quality support to manufacturing and production teams.

Quality Engineer III – Automotive Manufacturing

Location: Clinton, TN
Salary: $110,000–$125,000

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Quality Engineer to support automotive production operations in Clinton, TN. This is a hands‑on, plant‑focused quality role responsible for improving manufacturing processes, reducing defects and scrap, resolving production quality issues, and supporting customer requirements.

This is a manufacturing Quality Engineering position and is not a Software QA, Software Test, or IT Quality role. Candidates must have hands‑on Quality Engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do

As a Quality Engineer III, you will work directly with Manufacturing, Engineering, Suppliers, Customers, and Quality teams to identify and resolve production quality issues while supporting continuous improvement and new product launches.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing root‑cause investigations and corrective actions using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, and similar problem‑solving methodologies
• Support APQP, PPAP/ISIR, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and SPC
• Investigate production defects and implement permanent corrective actions
• Drive scrap reduction, defect reduction, and process improvement initiatives
• Manage containment activities and customer quality concerns
• Serve as a quality liaison between production, engineering, customers, and suppliers
• Support new product launches, engineering changes, and manufacturing process changes
• Monitor manufacturing quality metrics and identify opportunities for improvement
• Participate in internal and customer audits and support compliance with automotive quality standards
• Provide hands‑on quality support to manufacturing and production teams

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands‑on Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment required
• Experience with APQP, PPAP/ISIR, PFMEA, Control Plans, root‑cause analysis, and corrective actions
• Experience supporting production‑floor quality issues and manufacturing processes
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and cross‑functional communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or related field preferred
• Automotive OEM, Tier 1, or Tier 2 manufacturing experience strongly preferred
• Experience with IATF 16949 and AIAG Core Tools preferred
• Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Supplier Quality, Customer Quality, or automotive launch experience is a plus
• Stable work history preferred
