Job summary

Horizontal Talent in Foster City, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer to ensure vehicles meet strict assembly and end-of-line standards. You will shape quality processes, solve production issues, and help improve quality systems in a collaborative environment.

Join a dynamic team focused on inline and end-of-line checks, root-cause analysis, PFMEAs, and cross-functional problem solving across quality, engineering, supplier quality, and software.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years in quality or manufacturing engineering.
  • Hands-on with FMEA, control plans, APQP.
  • Independent work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication.
  • Experience improving manufacturing/quality processes.

  • Investigate assembly-related issues and drive root-cause analysis to resolution.
  • Support development, optimization, and implementation of end-of-line testing processes.
  • Create, maintain, and improve PFMEAs and control plans.
  • Analyze quality data to identify trends and improve performance.
  • Partner with quality, engineering, supplier quality, and software teams to resolve issues.
  • Help define and improve quality policies, manuals, and procedures; align with standards.

Job description

Join a dynamic manufacturing quality team focused on ensuring vehicles meet rigorous standards throughout assembly, bring-up, and end-of-line testing. This role offers the opportunity to shape quality processes, solve complex production issues, and help improve quality systems in a highly collaborative environment.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and integrate in-line and end-of-line quality checks into the manufacturing process
  • Investigate assembly-related issues and drive root cause analysis through resolution
  • Support the development, optimization, and implementation of end-of-line testing processes
  • Create, maintain, and improve PFMEAs and control plans
  • Analyze quality data to identify trends and improve assembly and test performance
  • Partner with teams across quality, engineering, supplier quality, and software to resolve production issues
  • Help define and improve quality policies, manuals, and manufacturing quality proceduresSupport alignment with recognized quality system standards and internal process requirements
Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in quality engineering or manufacturing engineering
  • Hands‑on experience with FMEA, control plans, and APQP
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Excellent cross‑functional communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience improving manufacturing or quality processes
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier environments
  • Lean Six Sigma, Shainin, or similar process improvement certification
  • CATIA V5/V6 experience
  • Background supporting quality systems such as IATF 16949 or ISO 9000
