Job summary

Seksun Texas Inc. is seeking a Quality Engineer to lead quality assurance initiatives in an automotive manufacturing setting.

You will ensure compliance with IATF 16949, drive continuous improvement, and implement robust quality systems using Six Sigma methodologies to reduce defects and improve process capability. The ideal candidate has a strong engineering background with experience in APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and MSA, and will mentor production teams while delivering measurable quality improvements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of automotive quality engineering experience.
  • Strong knowledge of IATF 16949 and Core Tools.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or higher preferred.
  • Proficient in GD&T and statistical analysis.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 and customer standards.
  • Lead APQP, PPAP, and FMEA for new launches and changes.
  • Manage control plans, Cp/Cpk, and MSA.
  • Investigate quality issues using root cause analysis and 8D.
  • Drive Lean/Six Sigma projects to reduce scrap and rework.
  • Support supplier quality management and audits.
  • Prepare and present quality metrics to management and customers.
  • Train and mentor junior engineers and production teams on quality tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer-specific quality standards.
  • Lead APQP, PPAP, and FMEA activities for new product launches and engineering changes.
  • Manage control plans, process capability studies (Cp, Cpk), and measurement system analysis (MSA).
  • Investigate and resolve internal and external quality issues using root cause analysis and 8D methodology.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects using Lean and Six Sigma tools to reduce scrap, rework, and warranty claims.
  • Support supplier quality management, including audits, corrective actions, and performance monitoring.
  • Prepare and present quality metrics and reports to management and customers.
  • Train and mentor junior engineers and production teams on quality tools and standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing preferred).
  • 3+ years of quality engineering experience in automotive manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of IATF 16949, Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC).
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification preferred.
  • Proficient in problem-solving tools (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone).
  • Experience with GD&T, statistical analysis, and quality software (e.g., Minitab).
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Familiarity with customer-specific requirements (OEM/Tier 1).
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Experience with auditing (internal and supplier).
