Job summary

Capital Quarries is seeking a Quality Control Technician to inspect and test aggregates for compliance with specifications. The role involves outdoor work across multiple quarries, operating lab equipment, and reporting results to the QC Manager.

You will conduct sand and gravel tests, ensure safety policies, and assist production teams as needed. Travel to facilities is required, with a focus on accuracy and timely data recording.

Qualifications

• Prior QC experience in a similar setting is a plus.
• Ability to work independently under strict time guidelines.
• Willingness to travel to different facilities and maintain flexibility in scheduling.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a Class E license.
• Subject to random drug screening and a medical review exam.
• Outdoor work environment with exposure to weather and hazards.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provides verbal and/or written test results and reports to the QC Manager and staff.
• Enforces quality control and safety policies.
• Conducts tests on sand and gravel.
• Communicates daily with the QC Manager.
• Sets up, adjusts and operates laboratory/testing equipment.
• Duties include obtaining samples around industrial areas.
• Records test results in a timely manner and maintains data files.
• Cleans, maintains and calibrates laboratory equipment.
• Demonstrates knowledge of safety rules and emergency procedures.
• Assists plant personnel with production and maintenance as needed.
• Participates as a team member and performs other duties as assigned.
