Job summary

Capital Quarries is seeking a Quality Control Technician to inspect and test aggregates for compliance with specifications. The role involves outdoor work across multiple quarries, operating lab equipment, and reporting results to the QC Manager.

You will conduct sand and gravel tests, ensure safety policies, and assist production teams as needed. Travel to facilities is required, with a focus on accuracy and timely data recording.

Qualifications

• Prior QC experience in a similar setting is a plus.
• Ability to work independently under strict time guidelines.
• Willingness to travel to different facilities and maintain flexibility in scheduling.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a Class E license.
• Subject to random drug screening and a medical review exam.
• Outdoor work environment with exposure to weather and hazards.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

• Participates as a team member and performs other duties as assigned.

## DescriptionCapital Quarries is looking for a QC Tech. This position will cover the Danville and Femme Osage Quarry and also travel to several quarries.The Quality Control Technician performs inspections, checks, and tests for quality of the material to be utilized in the manufacturing of aggregate materials, ensuring product quality and compliance with applicable specifications.**RESPONSIBILITIES*** Provides verbal and/or written tests results and reports to the QC Manager and staff.* Enforce quality control and Company safety policies on all aspects of the work.* Conducts tests on sand and gravel.* Communicate daily with QC Manager.* Responsible for set up, adjustment and operation of laboratory/testing equipment.* Work around industrial equipment and machinery to obtain materials samples.* Record test results in a timely manner.* Report and communicate test results.* Clean, maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment. Maintain test data files.* Demonstrates knowledge of, or the ability to learn, safety rules and equipment including identification of precautions for and emergency response to chemical, electrical, and mechanical hazards.* Demonstrates good workmanship in a neat and timely manner.* Must be able to work in a variety of positions throughout the day including standing, stooping, bending at the waist, at waist level, shoulder height and above the head.
