Job summary

The Waters Of Tipton is hiring a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) to administer medications with safety and sound judgment under nurse supervision. You’ll follow federal and state regulations and company policies, ensuring accurate MAR documentation and timely reporting.

Responsibilities include giving oral, inhaled, topical, and PRN medications, monitoring residents, and maintaining cart stock. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is required, with competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have current QMA license (unencumbered) and be able to provide all necessary documentation.

Responsibilities

• Administer oral medications, including scheduled medications.
• Handle PRN medications after nurse authorization and documentation of effectiveness.
• Administer inhalers and nebulizer treatments as approved by nurse.
• Apply topical and rectal ointments and nasal sprays/drops.
• Administer eye and ear ointments/drops and non-invasive treatments.
• Observe residents for drug reactions and report concerns to nurse immediately.
• Monitor residents’ vital signs and document on MAR.
• Calculate medication dosages and stock medication cart.
• Report to nurse on duty about resident responses and follow instructions for PRN meds.
• Audit documentation for accuracy and timeliness of medication/treatment records.
