Job summary

Granite Construction Incorporated is seeking a Quality Control Manager to implement and oversee the QC program on a large federal project. You will ensure all onsite and offsite work meets contract requirements through inspections, testing, and documentation.

You will manage QC personnel, coordinate with customers and regulators, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance per EM 385-1-1, OSHA, and MSHA. A degree is preferred with substantial QC experience in heavy civil construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; minimum of 5 years’ construction quality control with degree, or 10 years with at least 5 years in QC if no degree.
• Knowledge of EM 385-1-1, OSHA, and MSHA safety regulations.
• ASQ or ISO certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a QC system to ensure contract compliance.
• Lead testing, specification reviews, submittal approvals and ensure all required testing.
• Manage QC personnel, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations; ensure English proficiency.
• Supervise QC Engineers, testing personnel, and inspection staff on site to verify quality.
• Lead Coordination and Mutual Understanding Meetings to align QC with project execution.
• Provide technical support during pre-bid, construction, and post-construction phases; maintain QC documentation and audits.
• Maintain QC certifications and documentation including inspection records and compliance reports.
