Job summary

Granite Construction is seeking a Senior Quality Control lead to establish and maintain the project QC system in alignment with contract documents and federal standards. You will manage the 3-Phase QC program, reviews of plans and submittals, inspections, testing, documentation, and corrective actions.

You will lead quality meetings, interpret plans and criteria, and coordinate with project leadership, subcontractors, customers, and stakeholders, ensuring compliance with EM 385-1-1, OSHA, MSHA

Qualifications

• Extensive construction quality control experience on federal projects.
• Experience managing QC personnel, laboratories, subcontractors, and concurrent construction activities.
• Ability to interpret complex plans, specifications, codes, and federal quality requirements.
• CQM-C certification current; if not, completion within 90 days as per federal project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain the project QC system in accordance with contract documents, specifications, and standards.
• Manage the QC plan, reviews of submittals, inspections, testing, documentation, and corrective actions.
• Lead quality meetings and coordinate with project leadership, subcontractors, customers, and stakeholders.
• Interpret plans and criteria; escalate matters requiring professional judgment or customer direction.
• Ensure compliance with EM 385-1-1, OSHA, MSHA, safety, hazard identification, and sustainability requirements.
• Oversee inspections, nonconformance management, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Stamping/sealing only when properly licensed and authorized.
• Provide quality-related technical support during preconstruction, construction, and closeout.
