Job summary

Granite Construction is seeking a QC Engineer (Federal Division) to assist in implementing the quality control program on a federal construction project in Pajaro/Watsonville, CA. The role involves inspections, testing, documentation, and coordination under the QC Manager’s direction.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in a related field, knowledge of QC processes, and experience with EM 385-1-1 and OSHA standards. Two+ years preferred; federal project experience a plus.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and contract documents.
• Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining a QC system to ensure contract compliance using client-required software.
• Support implementation of the three phases of control: Preparatory, Initial, and Follow-up.
• Conduct field inspections and ensure materials and methods meet contract documents and submittals.
• Coordinate with testing laboratories, inspectors, and project personnel.
• Support project closeout and turnover documentation.
