Job summary

Granite Construction Incorporated is seeking a senior Quality Control professional to lead the QC program on major infrastructure projects in the Anchorage area. You will manage QC personnel, maintain a robust QC system, and ensure compliance with EM 385-1-1, OSHA, and MSHA standards while engaging with agencies and subcontractors.

The role requires 5+ years in construction QC with a degree or 10 years of experience with 5 years in QC without a degree, and completion of the CQM course or timely

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of construction quality control experience for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree or 10 years total experience with 5 years in QC if no degree.
• Must have completed the Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractors course; if not current, complete within 90 days of hire.
• Knowledge of EM 385-1-1, OSHA, and MSHA safety regulations; ASQ or ISO certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a Quality Control system with three phases: Preparatory, Initial, and Follow-up.
• Lead and support QC personnel including hiring, training, and evaluations; ensure all team members are fluent in English.
• Oversee site presence, supervise QC Engineers and testing staff to verify quality and compliance with specs.
• Provide technical support during pre-bid, construction, and post-construction; conduct inspections and maintain QC documentation.
• Engage with government agencies, subcontractors, testing firms, and technical staff to ensure project quality and compliance.
