LGC Biosearch Technologies in Petaluma, CA, is seeking a Supervisor of Quality Control Chemistry Laboratory to lead high‑throughput QC testing and drive continuous improvement. The role manages staff, coordinates priorities across QC, Manufacturing, and R&D, and ensures compliant documentation under GMP/GDP and ISO standards.

The successful candidate will oversee chromatographic analyses, mentor teams, and align testing with production needs in a fast-paced laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field.
• Regulated QC lab experience leading priorities and staff.
• Experience with analytical testing of chemical products and oligonucleotides.
• Proficient with HPLC, LC-MS, spectrophotometers, DNA synthesizers, and pH meters.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 13485, GMP and GDP in laboratory testing.
• Ability to review results and support technical decisions.
• Experience with investigations, deviations, risk assessments, and improvements.
• Knowledge of hazardous chemical handling and waste management.
• Ability to schedule and prioritize analytical work; multitask.
• Experience training and developing QC staff.

Responsabilités

• Provide leadership for multiple QC laboratory teams and functions.
• Assign work, train staff, recruit support, and evaluate performance.
• Develop capacity, cross-training, and resource allocation strategies.
• Oversee analytical testing using HPLC, LC-MS, spectrophotometry, and related equipment.
• Review results against specifications and customer requirements.
• Support investigations, deviations, risk assessments, and technical reporting.
• Ensure compliant documentation under GMP/GDP and ISO standards.
• Coordinate testing schedules with Manufacturing, R&D and Quality.
• Write and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and QC records.
• Identify process improvements to boost safety and efficiency.
• Ensure safe handling/storage/disposal of samples and hazardous materials.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
