Job summary

LGC Biosearch Technologies, a leading life sciences tools company, seeks a Quality Control Analyst I for its California lab. The role focuses on routine QC testing of oligonucleotides, raw materials, and final products using HPLC, LC-MS, and related instruments, with emphasis on documentation and compliance.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in a related field, has lab experience, and can work independently in a regulated setting while contributing to continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, chemical engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, or related field.
• Hands-on experience in analytical laboratory.
• Knowledge of lab safety practices and chemical handling.
• Ability to perform analytical procedures and follow SOPs.
• Ability to perform volumetric and gravimetric measurements, dilutions, and solution prep.
• Data analysis and comparison to specs.

Responsibilities

• Execute QC procedures using HPLC, LC-MS, spectrophotometers, pH meters, DNA synthesizers, and other analytical tools.
• Perform analytical testing of materials and products against specs and requirements.
• Recommend product disposition and update QC/QA records.
• Label products and incoming goods with quality status.
• Calibrate and verify laboratory equipment.
• Conduct standard lab operations including dispensing and measurements.
• Follow SOPs and good documentation practices to create accurate records.
• Perform lab maintenance, buffer loading, reagent stocking, and waste handling.
• Communicate testing status and needs to QC leadership and stakeholders.
• Support safety, team objectives, and continuous improvement initiatives.
