Job summary

G&W Electric seeks a Quality Control Inspector I to inspect components and finished products for conformance to process controls using visual inspection and basic measuring tools. You will perform final inspections on switches and part orders, train personnel in process control, and participate in audits and NCR handling.

You will need to read and interpret drawings, use calipers/micrometers, and have familiarity with MS Word/Excel and ERP systems. Previous manufacturing experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret drawings, schematics, bills of material, wiring and ladder diagrams.
• MS Word and Excel experience; ERP system is a plus.
• Calipers, micrometers, and Fluke multimeter used for inspection.

Responsibilities

• Perform final inspection tasks on all switches and part orders being shipped.
• Train production personnel in effective methods to control processes.
• Perform internal process audits as required, report all findings.
• Authority to shut down non-conforming processes after notifying Supervisor.
• Communicate drawing discrepancies to Engineering.
• Participate in customer inspections as needed.
• Assist team members in preparing and entering NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports).
• Write Customer Improvement Initiative (CII) documentation for audits.
• Report violations of ISO standards to the Quality Manager.
• Participate in prototype reviews for new products.
• Assist in dimensional analysis to identify quality issues.
• Create/implement process control charts for critical processes; maintain safe environment.
• Conserve resources and train others in inspection tasks.
• Inspect all work prior to passing to the next operation.
• Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
