Job summary

Bento Inc. is seeking a Quality Assurance and Food Safety Supervisor to uphold product quality and plant sanitation across operations.

You will lead HACCP initiatives, ensure GMP compliance, and drive training and development for QA technicians in a fast-paced production environment. Key responsibilities include leading audits, maintaining QA documentation, and collaborating with Plant Operations to implement process improvements and cost savings.

Qualifications

• Minimum college diploma in Food Science or related field.
• Preferred 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance.
• GFSI experience (SQF is an asset) and PCQI certification.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent quality of production and plant sanitation by enforcing above-standard manufacturing practices.
• Lead HACCP program updates and ensure prereq programs are implemented in production.
• Provide leadership and coaching to QA technicians, including training needs and performance assessment.
• Lead audits and assist QA Manager.
• Maintain records of finished product specs, SOPs, SSOPs, QA forms, etc.
• Create GMP/HACCP/Sanitation training materials and train employees on quality and food safety principles.
• Address plant issues and follow up on customer/supplier complaints with corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Plant Operations to implement quality improvements and cost savings.
• Support third-party audits (GMP, Costco) and internal audits.
• Manage 2 QA Technicians and provide development recommendations.
• Oversee sanitation via environmental swabbing and coordinate with Sanitation team.
• Review testing results for raw materials and finished products.

Education
