Job summary

Bento Inc. is hiring an Overnight Quality Assurance and Food Safety Supervisor to ensure production quality and plant sanitation across the Chicago facility.

You will lead HACCP programs, train QA staff, and drive corrective actions in response to audits and customer feedback. Based in the Chicago Food Factory, this role requires a strong background in GMP, SQF/GFSI standards, and tangible leadership experience in a food processing setting.

Qualifications

• Completion of a college diploma in Food Science, or a related field.
• GFSI experience (SQF is an asset). PCQI certification.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent quality of production and plant sanitation by developing and enforcing above-standard manufacturing practices.
• Lead HACCP program and prerequisite programs, ensure up-to-date and fully implemented in production.
• Provide leadership and direction to the plant QA team, including training, coaching and development of QA technicians.
• Provide leadership during audits and assist QA Manager as assigned.
• Maintain records of finished product specifications, SOPs, SSOPs, QA forms, etc.
• Create training materials to support GMP/HACCP/Sanitation programs and train staff on quality and food safety principles.
• Review plant issues and follow up on customer/supplier complaints with corrective actions.
• Implement quality enhancement processes with Plant Operations for cost savings and improvements.
• Support third-party audits (GMP, Costco) and internal audits.
• Manage direct reports of 2 QA Technicians and propose team development.
• Oversee sanitation inspection and communicate issues with Sanitation team.
• Review testing results for raw materials and finished products.
