Job summary

Bento Inc. is seeking a Quality Assurance and Food Safety Team Leader to oversee plant safety and product quality at our Texas facility in Garland. You will lead QA activities, audits, and trainings, ensuring GMP/HACCP compliance and liaison with inspectors and customers.

The role requires leadership experience in food processing, strong communication, and thorough attention to detail; on‑site 4:00 am–12:00 pm or 8:00 am–4:00 pm shifts may apply. Competitive compensation and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Post‑secondary education in Food Science, Chemistry, Public Health or Biological Science is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of food safety standards.
• HACCP plant experience preferred.
• Previous leadership experience, preferably in a Food Processing facility.
• Effective communication skills.
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and pressure.
• Must be computer literate.

Responsibilities

• Assist front‑line supervisory staff in ensuring GMP/HACCP compliance and report non‑conformances.
• Ensure manufacturing processes meet quality standards with emphasis on safety and sanitation.
• Conduct random quality checks and internal audits to meet FDA standards.
• Provide food safety and quality training classes and schedules.
• Train QA Techs (onboarding and annual).
• Maintain HACCP records and assist revisions of SOPs and specs.
• Collect and send microbiological and chemical samples for lab testing.
• Update supplier information and ensure finished product/spec integrity.
