Job summary

Sweetwater Care in Taunton, MA is launching a dedicated pulmonary program and is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist licensed in Massachusetts. The RT will work under the Pulmonary Program Coordinator to provide respiratory care per physician orders and facility policies, while leading daily shift operations and collaborating with Nursing, Infection Prevention, and physicians.

Qualifications

• Current State Respiratory Therapist Licensure in MA.
• Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Respiratory Therapy.
• Possesses and maintains an active RRT credential.
• Current ACLS and BLS Certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge of pulmonary aspects within therapist scope and licensure.
• Administers respiratory therapy treatments and understands their purpose and side effects.
• Able to assess patient pain affecting function and rehabilitation participation.
• Follows equipment sterilization procedures and maintains infection control.
• Documents pertinent data in the patient record after pulmonary program activities.
• Operates and inspects respiratory therapy equipment for safe function.
• Manages oxygen therapy hazards and educates patients/families appropriately.
• Develops care plans based on learning needs and evaluates effectiveness.
