Job summary

Qualifications

• Current State Respiratory Therapist licensure in Massachusetts.
• Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Respiratory Therapy.
• Active Registered Respiratory Therapist credential (RRT).
• Current ACLS certification.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge of pulmonary care within therapist scope and licensure.
• Administers respiratory therapy treatments and interventions per orders.
• Assesss patient pain and coordinates with nursing for intervention.
• Follows infection control and equipment sterilization procedures.
• Documents data in patient medical records after therapy sessions.
• Operates and inspects respiratory equipment for safety and performance.
• Contributes to care plans and includes patient/family in education.
• Directs daily shift operations and communicates with nurses and physicians.
• Participates in education/in-service programs to maintain competency.
• Performs other duties as assigned by department manager.
