Job summary

Banner University Medical Center Phoenix is seeking a Certified Patient Care Assistant to join the Pulmonary-Geriatrics unit. You will work with RNs to provide compassionate care using advanced procedures, on a 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. day shift, in a 48-bed unit serving Med Surg and PCU patients.

You will perform routine patient care, data collection, charting, and support unit operations while ensuring patient safety and comfort in a fast-paced academic hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Current CNA/LNA license in state of practice is required.
• 1 year of medical clerical experience preferred.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills; strong patient service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Assist activities of daily living and promote patient health.
• Collect vital signs and input/output data; document in EMR.
• Report abnormalities to licensed professional; ensure continuity of care.
• Perform procedures under supervision (blood draws, EKGs) as trained.
• Handle receptionist/clerical duties to support department workflow.
• Maintain patient records with admissions, transfers and discharges.
• Manage supplies and equipment; track assets and order as needed.
• Assist with patient transport and OR turnover as assigned.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on patient service.
