Job summary

Banner Health’s Banner Ironwood Medical Center in Queen Creek, AZ seeks a Certified Patient Care Assistant to support Progressive Care patients on 4N PCU. This full-time day shift role involves prior unit experience, strong patient-facing skills, and flexibility to float to other units as staffing requires.

You will assist with daily living activities, vital signs, and charting, while maintaining patient comfort and safety. BLS and CNA licensure are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• Current BLS certification and CNA license in state of practice.
• Typically 1 year of medical clerical experience; hospital setting preferred.
• Excellent organizational, communication and human relations skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology; computer literacy required.
• Successful ECG interpretation training or course or on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine patient care to promote comfort and plan of care.
• Collect vital signs, input/output and other data per policy.
• Report changes to licensed staff and ensure accurate handoffs.
• Assist with procedures, supplies, and EMR documentation.
• Perform receptionist/clerical duties to support unit operations.
• Maintain patient records, chart forms and educational materials.
• Manage supplies and equipment; assist in unit turnover as needed.
• Assist with patient transport and contribute to care team.
• Work under supervision in a fast-paced clinical setting.
