Job summary

Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS) seeks an Eligibility Specialist 1 in OFI District 6 to determine eligibility for SNAP, Medicaid and TANF. You will process applications, renewals and changes using policy guidelines and the state Gateway system.

You will also verify data, document interactions, and deliver courteous service to diverse clients while meeting training and scheduling requirements. Telework may be available depending on position and training status.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED and 1 year of customer-facing experience.
• Strong data entry and data accuracy skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple queues.

Responsibilities

• Determine initial and renewal eligibility for public assistance programs (SNAP/Medicaid/TANF).
• Process applications, reviews, hearing requests and changes per guidelines.
• Register online applications and verifications via Georgia Gateway.
• Record and evaluate applicant data.
• Provide professional, courteous customer service to internal/external customers.
