Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a County Caseworker 1 in the Ongoing Unit in Honesdale, PA. This full‑time role focuses on helping individuals and families improve well‑being through guided support and structured training, performing paraprofessional case management duties under guidance of the county CYS.

Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday–Friday, with potential irregular hours and on-call rotations. Telework is not available.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college coursework in related social sciences.
• Bachelor's degree with 12 credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related field.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training with 12 credits and one year of paraprofessional case management experience.
• Applicants may meet educational requirements within two months of graduation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct client interviews to assess needs and eligibility.
• Obtain social histories to understand client backgrounds.
• Verify eligibility for services and benefits.
• Provide counseling, referrals, and supportive services to families.
• Assist families in creating plans to improve functioning and child well‑being.
• Maintain case records and prepare studies.
